1st COVID-19 infection in Guelph

A patient at St. Jospeh’s has tested positive.

A patient at St. Joseph’s Health Centre was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Monday, the first known coronavirus case in Guelph.

It is the third positive diagnosis under Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health after cases in Orangeville and Mount Forest.

While light on details, a press release from the hospital said it was a patient in one of its post-acute units. It directed questions to Public Health.

This was first reported by the Guelph Mercury Tribune.
