TORONTO — The Ontario government announced on Thursday that public schools would remain closed for the two weeks following March break with Humber College staying open.
Ontario schools have been ordered to remain closed from March 14 through to April 5.
The minister of education, Stephen Lecce, made the decision based on advice from Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health and from the COVID-19 Command Table — Ontario’s coronavirus taskforce.
The province has 59 cases of COVID-19. Seventeen of those cases, including one infant, were confirmed on Thursday.
