A UN and Syrian Arab Red Crescent convoy entered eastern Ghouta (Syria) today, to deliver humanitarian aid to 40,000 people for the first time since 2016. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said they entered the towns of Kafra Batna and Saqba.
“The last time we reached these two locations were in June 2016,” OCHA spokesman Jens Laerke said.
A health worker in Saqba who helped offload supplies said that nine trucks of food and four trucks of medicines have arrived so far.
