Anonymous released private information on a second wave of United States senators on Friday, mainly Democrats, with the aim of pressuring the politicians to launch the impeachment process of their president.

Email addresses and phone numbers from 26 senators of the US Democratic Party and two independents, including Bernie Sanders, Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren, were given out in a press release at 4:00 pm ET on Friday.

This follows a release of private information on 22 senators the previous day, who many were reportedly able to contact.

The Anon Journal says this likely why Bob Corker gave a stronger stance on President Donald Trump later on Thursday.

First leak, 22 senators of the Republican Party

The Journal obtained the information through Anonymous operatives, but did not know whether it was through a leak or hack.

Editor-in-Chief Rob Pfeiffer said on Thursday the moves were in response to Mr Trump’s contentious stance on the violence that shook Charlottesville on Saturday.

Trump said earlier this week “both sides” are to blame, describing counter protestors in Charlottesville as “alt-left”.

Mr Pfeiffer said that The Anon Journal hopes for individuals to email and call the senators in an effort to condemn Trump and call for his impeachment.

More details to follow.
