Several arrests and office robbery

Guelph Police made several arrests on Monday and are also searching for suspects in a Norfolk Street break-and-enter.

A female, 29, was arrested after stabbing a car tire and being chased by police on foot. A police report says she had a switchblade-type knife and a small amount of Crystal Meth.

She is charged with mischief under $5,000, the carrying of a concealed weapon and other charges.

A bail hearing is occurring on Tuesday.

Police said they responded to a break-and-enter to an office on Norfolk Street that likely occurred over the weekend with electronics reported stolen.

Police ask any with knowledge of the robbery to contact Cst S Bangay at 519 824 1212.

A man was found in a backyard shed, presumably by the shed’s owner, on Monday. The male, described as a thin, graying 50-year-old with a laptop bag and wearing a blue shirt, left after being confronted and stole nothing.

However, authorities are looking for the man.

Shortly before midnight, officers responded to a “disturbance” in a Silvercreek Parkway North hotel lobby and arrested one male, 18, for failing to leave the premises and for being intoxicated in a public place.

One female was taken to hospital by GWEMS and three others were shown out.

Guelph Police reported that they responded to 170 calls for service.
