Mayor Cam Guthrie has challenged Guelph to do three acts of service for the local, national and global communities.
Guelph signed on to the “3 Things for Canada” challenge, Mr Guthrie said in a blog post on Sunday.
“Your 3 things can be big or small, and they can make a difference for someone up the street or on another continent,” read the post.
Guthrie said those looking for inspiration can visit the People and Information Network for opportunities to get involved.
Guelph also has a group of local organizations partnered in the movement including the YMCA/YWCA, United Way, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce and others.
A “3 Things for Canada” celebration is occurring downtown at Market Square on Carden St this Friday. Join the Mayor in raising the Canadian Flag and listen to music at a children-friendly event.
