Mayor of Guelph Cam Guthrie has come under fire for the City announcing planned construction on Stone Road.
In a series of tweets, former Guelph Tribune editor Chris Clark argues that the road that runs from Victoria in the east to across the Hanlon in the west does not need repaving.
.@CamGuthrie Why? Lot more roads in greater need are there not? https://t.co/jaO9R6rNDk

You’re not insinuating that we just randomly pick a road right? Like throwing a dart blindfolded at a map of the city? I will ask staff 4 U. pic.twitter.com/GfmJBsxHol

Well, some of your decisions appear as if you are throwing darts. 🤣 https://t.co/upPaxxgjFY

Well I’m at least I’m aiming at the dartboard and not unicorns, rainbows and gumdrops.

Yep. The release of 50,000 private emails contrary to privacy laws are unicorns, rainbows and gumdrops. Dream on Mr Mayor.

Guelph Updater Editor Eli Ridder asked for clarity in regards to the “50,000 private emails” and Clark said the City “inadvertently” released the emails in amidst a dismissal suit.
You did not know the City of Guelph “inadvertently” released over 50,000 emails in its (lost?) defence of a wrongful dismissal suit? #Guelph https://t.co/EXpGIyTokk

The construction zone is detailed in the image below.
