Teenagers pulled over dam by current

Two teenagers received injuries after being swept over a “low head dam” in the Grand River at Bissell Park on Wednesday.

The teenagers were reportedly swimming upstream in before being pushed by the water over the dam before falling 15 ft onto a concrete base.

Emergency services were called to the scene and assisted the teens and brought them to a local hospital.

The press release asks swimmers and hikers to “stay in the designated areas and to obey signs and notices.”
