A moment of silence was held before the City Council meeting on Monday evening for those killed in the Quebec City shooting the night previous before a quick council meeting.
A vigil at the Muslim Society of Guelph started at the same time as the meeting. The 6:30 p.m. gathering at 286 Water St. was to remember the six who died on Sunday after an attacker opened fire at a mosque in Quebec City.

Cam Guthrie made a motion to take the seat of a Kingston councillor on an Ontario organisation until June.
Councillor James Gordon asked whether it was doable due for Mayor to take on the role alongside his Mayoral duties. Guthrie said that it was common across Canada for Mayors to join.
Still waiting on the name of this organisation.
