
A shooting at a Canadian mosque in Quebec City has killed at least five.
Quebec City Police have arrested two suspects at this point, but did not provide a number regarding a number for deaths or injuries.
One of the suspects was chased to near l’île d’Orléans. The identities of the two in custody have not been released, nor information regarding any affiliations or motivation.
There were a reported 40 people inside the mosque at the time of the attack.
The shooting occurred at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Quebec in the Sainte-Foy region in Quebec City.
Around 20 police vehicles responded along with several ambulances.
The mosque had received threat letters previous and a pig’s head was left near the religious establishment’s door last year.
Quebec City Constable Étienne Doyon said that mostly men were gathered in the building for evening prayers.
